Hi ....This is what i felt about Hey Babyy music on hearing the album twice...

Hey baby is a decent soundtrack and makes for a good listening, but it lacks that one 'out n out melodious track', which will linger in your mind on 'first listening' itself and make you hum continuosely. Such a track is missing. Though, the one song that come nearest to such a category is Dholna, it has a nice romantic feel that grows on you with repeated hearings, and is backed by good tabla and harmonium. After listening to bol na halke, I felt that mahalaxmi iyer should have been there with Sonu for this song. Ofcourse, shreya is a good singer too. Now, Mast Kalander is a good energetic qawwali based song featuring nice instrumentation ...new singer's and their voice suits the song...a great job by SEL. The Title Hey Baby track has a steady decent ryhthm and should catch on, it has some rap thrown in between...the Girl band's variation of this song is more upbeat, faster and has international feel to it as mentioned by a fan in this forum. Meri Duniya starts like a jingle meant for a baby, and develops into a gently paced soft situational song with electric guitar and piano interludes , and sung well in tandem by the trio shaan, sonu and shankar. Jaane Bhi De is a typical filmy song.....enjoyable..it seems like there is some carribean flavour in it..but not sure. I haven't gone through the remixes part of the album.

Overall ...it's decent , enjoyable and music will catch on if film is liked ...but previous albums from SEL have been better....so, we fans expect more from SEL...much better melodies to go with the mindblowing arrangements and instrumentation.

Hi, all!
My favorite song is Meri Duniya Tu Hi Re, it is one of those "perfect" songs that lifts your heart. All the vocals are so nice, it is so sweet, almost with a nostalgic feeling. Love the jazz interlude on keyboard and guitar and the beautiful ending with the music box is a great touch!

I like just about every song on the album, don't like the final remix too much but, that is just me. I'd rather you include more original songs than have remixes but, that is just my opinion. The first song is just great and I love Mast Kalandar, too!

Of course, I am always happy to hear so much Shankar but I really like the fact that Loy is vocalizing more and more now, too!

Thanks to S-E-L!
love
donna

Yesterday only I watched “Hey Baby”. Normally I’m watching SRK’s films by anyhow managing my time but other movies if I get time. I urge to watch this movie “ Hay Baby” after I heard the song “Mast Kalandar”. I love this song very much and also it’s still playing our country “Hindi Movie Song Charts” and love to see my favorite King KHAN also in this song.Well done SEL, Thanks. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Initially I did not like the songs of Hey Baby. Infact I was quite stupid to think that SEL had lost their touch as far this album was concerned. BUt the songs just grew on me. The title track was something which I never liked but its such a groovy number that I dont miss a chance to listen to it nowadays in the radio and on my laptop.

I really like O Meri jaana. Its such a nice number and a feel good sorry song Smile.Dholna is very nice. But I would say the best is 'Mast Kalandar'. It has the the real SEL touch.

Ehsan, the only problem i find in most of your numbers is that the pitch is too high for a normal person to sing Very Happy . Im a amateur singer myself and any track where Shankar has given his voice, its sometimes impossible to sing it Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy . Title track of Aalavanthan (Abhay in Hindi), Mast Kalandar are a few examples among the many:).

Keep rocking guys. I can tell U for sure that there are millions out there who look forward to your albums and they are never disappointed. It only gets better each time.

Regards

Shyaam
