| Some terrible reviews are coming through http://dunkdaft.blogspot.com/2011/11/don-2-music-review.html. Still trying to get hold of the tracks..I waited the whole year for this SEL!! Hope I don't agree with the reviewers although it is starting to look like I might.. |

Still waiting for my copy. Read some scathing reviews online. Karthik from Milliblog even refused to review it.

One word - DISAPPOINTING! Why on earth would Farhan decide to include further rehashes instead of new songs? Bad, bad idea. I really like the instrumentation, but the Don title song overdose is staggeringly redundant. I can certainly see why people are disappointed with the album.
Love Hai Yeh Maaya (one of the few "original" songs so to say, and it rocks - wish it had more original songs  ) - Usha Ji rocked. Excellent choice too.
Dushman Mera is good, wish someone else had sung it instead of Sunitha, they don't sound 80'ish at all.
Zaraa Dil Ko pales in comparison, but it's fine.
Instrumention in The King Is Back is awesome, though again, redundancy makes it fall short of being awesome.

| Hey just listening to the songs..OK whoever said NW1W is nuts and has little or no knowledge or appreciation of music..The album suffers big-time in the lyrics section..maybe it is time for Farhan to fire Papa..but musically it is still a quite innovative album..Listening to Dushman Mera..Samba beats in HFM after a long time..lots of brass..Shankar mahadevan transforms his voice to sound like Kishore Kumar..lovely 7th chords on piano while he is singing..the lyrics are awful..gusse mein rahna..mera gussa..kya yaar?? |

Continuing..the bass line is terrific and at parts resembles Tony Vaz's bass in R D Burmans..Monica O My Darling..musically the song is refreshing..
The King is back..i listened to this track several times to enjoy all the subtle nuances.starting with caralissa moneteros beautiful alaap it goes into full funk mode...the raw drumming is awesome and the lead synth sounds are awesome..of course the don theme is used here..but there is more..then halfway through it breaks into sweet violins and heavenly subtle piano..only to get back to the techno mode..and then towards the end there is pretty interesting use of chorus used like an instrument in the background!!phew..nicely conceived..full blown masti. |

Good to hear that you enjoyed it Sata. Yeah NW1W is absolute rubbish. Except the redundancy, I find it fine.
And yes, got my copy today (heard it on BWH previously), and it's starting to grow on me
